Can Hypnosis help the opioid addiction problem?

Can Hypnosis help the opioid addiction problem?

You hear a lot these days about the opioid addiction problem. Can Hypnosis help?

Lets look at it. Somebody goes to their doctor. Maybe their medicine isn’t working as well as it used to. And they get diagnosed as they have become addicted to their pain medication. They take time off, lose money from work, go to rehab, and get off their opioid pain medication.

What about the chronic pain that had them on opioids to begin with? What if that was the only pain medication that provided any relief?

Their only real choice is to become addicted to another drug, or live with the chronic pain.

Can hypnosis help the addiction problem?

Most people think of a “pain center” in the brain… but there really isn’t. The nerve signals are sent up the spinal column to the thalamus. The thalamus then sends the information to the frontal cortex and other parts of the brain. The brain then filters the signal through the emotional state and past experiences. Then the brain uses all that to manufacture a “pain response”.

Here is where things get interesting…

If I injure my knee, I need pain to let me know and protect it while my knee is healing.

If I injured my knee 5 years ago and it is healed, but the pain response never gets turned off properly, I don’t need that pain.

This is where hypnosis pain management can help. Hypnosis is good with pain. But hypnosis is very, very successful treating this kind of pain, and in some cases like phantom limb pain the success rate is in the high 90% range.

So the way hypnosis can help the opioid addiction problem is by understanding the addiction isn’t the problem. It’s a symptom of chronic pain.

I can help get rid of the chronic pain. Hypnosis has one of the highest success rates for pain management there is.

Then you and your doctor can deal with your pain medication. And you can live a happy, productive, pain free life.

Social media marketing, or welcome to the 7th level of hell.

Honestly… I’d still rather work with hypnosis than dealing with any of the web marketing stuff. And so far, my most unfavorite part is working my Facebook page,

7th level of hell

It seems like Facebook tries to keep everything about having a good business page a secret. And by good I mean a page that brings in clients.

The whole realm of social media marketing is convoluted and arcane. And it is constantly changing too. So you never really know if what you are doing is going to be effective, or for how long.

The fact of the matter is though, this is where we are today. If you have a business and you want clients you have to tend to your web presence. It’s not like in the old days. Then, you got listed in the yellow pages of the phone book and most of your marketing was done.

Because everything and everybody, and every business, is on the Internet now. It doesn’t matter how good you are, if nobody can find you you can’t get clients. And it takes those initial clients to build word of mouth which is where the business will really come in later if you are a small business in a local market.

Social media marketing

Fortunately, there are some places that can help. I found the blog at ( ) to be invaluable. There are a ton of little insider tricks to getting likes, to increasing your audience, that are simply unknowable without help.

Tips and tricks, to how much you can expect to pay for marketing and what you will get for your money. To me, this is valuable information, and it’s nice not to have to spend hours and hours searching for it. It’s also nice to have someone explain how to get the most bang for your buck, especially when that buck is limited. And those bucks are never more limited than when trying to get a new project off the ground, or trying to open a new office.

Hypnosis and infertility.

Hypnosis and infertility.

One of the things I find interesting is the number of conditions hypnosis can help that we never even think about. One of those is infertility.
It shouldn’t come a shock. How many times have you read about a couple that decided to give up and adopt and then suddenly BOOM! She finds out she’s pregnant.
In some cases, it’s like trying to make yourself go to sleep. The harder you try, the less success you are going to have.
Hypnosis is great for cases like this.
And even if you wind up going the medical route, hypnosis can help.
A team from Soroka University, Israel, found that hypnosis can double the success of IVF treatment.
So if you are a couple trying to conceive, give me a call. I’d love to help!
